Ways To Help Protect Abortion Access

Our reproductive rights are under attack. Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade on June 24th, 2022, it has become harder to obtain an abortion in countless states across the country.
Let’s make it clear that abortions are still legal in some states, and they will continue to happen regardless of local laws. Abortion restrictions hurt real people, especially Black, Latino, and Indigenous communities for whom systemic racism and discrimination in this country have created huge barriers to health care and economic opportunities.
You have the power to help protect and expand abortion access. Here are four ways to fight back against this injustice:
Shout Your Support for Abortion Access
Start a conversation with your friends, family, and social media followers about what access to abortion is so important to you. Use your voice to speak out and encourage others to feel more comfortable and share their support.
- Post about abortion rights on social media using the hashtag #BansOffOurBodies
- Repost shout-outs from your favorite abortion rights supporters
- If someone close to you is having an abortion, follow these tips to offer them support
Support Abortion Funds
Donate to abortion funds directly for your money to go straight to patients and people on the ground who work tirelessly to provide access to abortion. Abortion funds help patients in countless ways by paying for their care, or even providing resources like transportation, lodging, and child care.
You can make a donation to your local abortion fund by visiting the National Network of Abortion Funds.
Support Reproductive Justice Organizations
Reproductive Justice centers the lives, experiences, and needs of marginalized people, particularly those who identify as Black women and other women of color. Planned Parenthood has an extensive list of organizations to support in this battle for Reproductive Justice.
